Is this Day 1?
I’m not sure sure if this should be counted as day 1 or day 6,456 of the being of launching this career. It feels great getting back to my passion. I am so excited to have completed the initial website for Cook Creative. Gabby and I have had our business since 2020, but there was always so much more than this. We have always had freelance jobs lined up, but never we have never brought it together in such a cohesive fashion. I think that both Gabby and I are both at the top of our game, and have so many skills that we are refining each and everyday.
After college, I went straight into purchasing and sales and completely away from anything that related to web, print, or digital design. I didn’t realized how much I would miss it after awhile as I was starting out in my new career. When I was ready to get back into web design I didn’t realize how everything had changed. No iframes, newer versions of CSS, and everything else like Bootstrap, ThreeJS and more. Where do you even start? Starting back into all of this made me feel like Neo in the Matrix looking at the green numbers for the first time. Not to mention I was working a full-time job, getting married, having kids (you know life) while learning and getting back into web design. Slowly I kept learning on my own time and I got back into creating my own websites again. I knew that this was something that I could never leave again.
The Next Steps
Fast forward a couple of years (maybe a decade), and I still feel that same passion today. I couldn’t imagine a day going by where I don’t open the code inspector to how someone made some cool component on their website. The passion to keep doing this just continues to grow stronger. I love learning about Augmented Reality (AR) and showing my creations to other people and to my boys. I love the wow factor, and I think that is what keeps driving me every night to keep learning and moving forward. I will never forget the first time I showed my son one of my AR creations. He looked at my iPad and then around my iPad and back again. He just looked at me like “I see that sitting in our living room, but where the heck is it?” I still see that same excitement in the eyes of my boys, and all of the other people with whom I am sharing these experiences. Gabby and I want to continue to do this for everyone and everything that we touch. We love working with new people and helping them take their dreams to the next level. There is nothing more exciting then creating the first home page of a website, and getting that amazing feedback for how their work is coming to life. Or when we create a brochure and someone gets to feel and look at it for the first time. This is one of the best feelings in the world. I am so excited for this website launching, so I can start to better showcase all of the cool projects that we are working on and working with other on new and cool ideas. I am ready to continue to document this journey that we are working on, and expanding the ever growing list of things that Gabby and I can do for our customers. From interactive websites to digital brochures, we are ready to create anything and everything for our loyal customers and friends!!
