Augmented Reality: Viewing a 360 World

Augmented Reality 360 World

Capturing the 360 Photo

Using 360 degree photos can be a ton of fun. You can use them in a variety of different ways. They can be embedded in a website like this, and many people are familiar with these being used in a walk through of a home but they have so many more uses. These could be used to show a vacation spot or used to show a new client how their new product could look in a more real life setting.

I captured this image several years ago, and I like to still use it due to the effort that I took in creating it. I used Google Street View and it stitched together a ton of picture to create this 360 photo. Now things are much easier with cameras like the Insta360 X3 – 360 Camera. This camera can capture video as well as images with a single click. After the image is captured then the fun begins. You are start to share your experiences in a new and fun way.

Building with Blippar

I thought that using Blippar would be really fun on this project as well. Blippar allows you to share a webAR projects on iOS and Android devices, and it is super easy to add fun interactive elements like images and buttons. After you scan the QR code below, you can see the 360 image scene and turning around you can see the our logo that I inserted as well as a link back to our website. This opens up so many possibilities such as showing products for a customer, and then linking to a brochure or even about audio the product. Enough this tutorial that I put together!!!
